August offers one of the most enchanting conjunctions of the year: for three consecutive sunrises, the waning crescent Moon will approach the brightest planets in the sky, creating an unmissable spectacle for those who wake up early.
I hope these astronomical ephemeris inspire you to explore and photograph the night sky.

Tuesday 12th (early morning) ✨ The Moon near Saturn and Venus very close to Jupiter
An hour before sunrise, look east to find Venus very close to Jupiter (less than 1° apart) in the sky. At the same time, to the west, the Moon will be near Saturn. Enjoy both conjunctions with the naked eye or through a pair of binoculars.

The Pleiades are an open star cluster also known as "The Seven Sisters" or "Las siete cabritas".
Tuesday 19 ☿ Mercury at greatest elongation west
The apparent distance between Mercury and the Sun will be about 18°, meaning Mercury will be at its farthest from the Sun. This is the best time to observe Mercury. Look for it before dawn, in the direction of sunrise.
From Tuesday 19th to Thursday 21st (before dawn) ✨ The Moon near Jupiter, Venus and Mercury
For three mornings in a row, twilight will offer a wonderful view to those who get up early: the Moon will approach bright Jupiter and Venus, and Mercury will also be nearby, forming an elegant cluster of stars. This is not a rare phenomenon, but it's not so frequent. Look for a clear view to the east-northeast when the sky begins to clear.

The nights around the New Moon are the darkest, making them ideal for viewing and photographing the night sky.
Tuesday 26th (evening) ✨ The Moon near Mars
